Dr. Dave Tan (陈德斌) is the founder and CEO of Vital Design Sdn Bhd and holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). He has worked as a business consultant to beauty salons since 2003, helping several grow into chains, and builds management systems for SMEs and family businesses. Clients advised by Vital Design have achieved a combined RM1.8 billion in revenue.
What he does
- Management consulting: business diagnosis, business model design and strategic planning, especially modernising family businesses and SMEs.
- Million Revenue Coaching (Millionace): diagnosing businesses with a free business diagnosis report, then coaching and tracking improvement every month.
- Sales Master Training: repeatable sales processes for front-line teams.
- Software: turning consulting experience into software, he developed the salon management system CCS (Customer Care System), now CCS Plus.
Experience
Beyond beauty and retail services, he spent a full year helping a company with over a thousand staff and more than twenty departments restructure its business processes, with one goal: increase income and cut costs by shortening processes and raising productivity.
He believes management decisions should rest on data. Vital Design has consulted with data mining and data diagnosis for 20+ years, using a data mining technology co-developed with a US technical team and suited to consumer behaviour analysis.
